1st Grade Orange Tigers - October Newsletter
Happy fall! We had a great first few weeks of school at HEDP, making play dough, leaf rubbing sharing about our summers, and getting to know our new students. We had a birthday bash and celebrated our summer birthdays. Everybody is currently working hard on their all about me poster. On rainy days we’ve had loads of fun playing kickball, musical chairs and watching Chicken Little. We are reading the Little Tree House Book series we’ve read about 2 books each week thus far.
Throughout October, we will continue to meet with each student individually to come up with a goal for this year to be worked toward at extended day. In the past, we have seen goals that are skill-related, such as working on writing, as well as more fun things, like building the tallest marshmallow tower. We can’t wait to see what our students have in mind for this year!
What to look forward to this month:
- Magical vegetable observation
- Apple prints
- Painting with corn syrup
- Carving and painting pumpkins
- Learning fancy words ( Illan’s Goal)
- Making a piggy bank ( Taj’s goal)
- Halloween/Costume party
Please send in a small pumpkin for your child by Oct 21st.
