![]() June news Last month was great! Our PJ party was lots of fun, with Jonathan dressing up as Mr. Wormswerd, Rachel as Matilda and myself as Ms. Honey ( all characters in the Matilda book). The class was more welcoming and receptive to Rachel and I than to Jonathans character, perhaps it was because he was such a mean man in the book, poor Jonathan could barely get a word in edge wise as the class was harassing him bout all of his inappropriate and insensitive actions in the book. Our Bean Jar is almost full!! The class has been earning beans left and right. Soon we will celebrate their efforts with a fabulous cupcake party! We begin our month with our end of the year party, Pizza Palooza, will be held on Monday the third, we look forward to seeing you all there. The class has been working on a special performance with Rachel for the party and we are putting together another little surprise video as well. We kick off our first week, after the end of the year party, with a camping theme, where there will be marshmallow stamping art, summer bucket lists, pigs in blankets and tent fun! Of course we cannot forget the week before Father’s Day, where we will be working on a little surprise for all the Dad’s and or granddads out there and also be doing some fun insect activities, that tie into our Eric Carle’s books we will be exploring. Week 3 is going to be filled with all things Pirate! Spyglasses made of cups, duct tape swords, ships in blue jello, we anticipate that this will be a popular week, Friday the 21st will be talk and dress like a pirate day. As for our final farewell week we will be saying our goodbyes with some cool science experiments. May everyone have a safe and fun filled summer! Love the 1-2 team! Important Days To Remember..... Friday the 21st Dress like a pirate day Wednesday 27th Early Release ( bring a lunch) Thursday 28th Early Release/Last day ( bring lunch) HEDP will be closing at 4:45 on both Early Release Days. ![]() JUNE WOW! Another school year is over. It feels like we just started our adventure as the extended day class of 2013! As they say,” time goes by when you are having fun!” and that was defiantly the case with us this year. It started with learning all about each other, to learning about nature and animals, to celebrating Halloween, shooting off to outer space, discovering different children’s authors, creating Alphabet books, taking adventures with Flat Stanley to exploring the United States. We will end the year with HEDP Olympics and water games. The children have had fun and worked extremely hard all year. It has been such a pleasure to get to know all the children and watch them grow and develop over this year. OH, how they all have changed! We would like to thank all of our parents for your support this year, your children are very special to us and we thank you for letting us have the opportunity to teach them. We love their funny stories, their eagerness to learn and willingness to do new and exciting things. We appreciate all the support and understanding we received from parents throughout these ten months! These next two weeks we are going to focus on Hawaii and the Pacific west states. We will make leis and learn to hula dance. We will build igloos out of sugar cubes and play “Pictionary”, which was invented in Washington. Hopefully if the weather cooperates we will spend some more time outdoors, playing water games and enjoying special treats in the sun! Please be sure to bring in a bathing suit, towel and water shoes for your child. On June 13th we will be celebrating our last Birthday Bash for all our summer birthdays with an ice cream social! We wish all our Kindergarteners the best next year in first grade, as well as our Pre-K children going on to Kindergarten. We hope to see everyone next year, even if it’s just for a visit. A couple of reminders this month… *Please be sure to take home all your child’s belongings *Birthday Bash on June 13th *June 27th and June 28th HEDP will close at 4:45pm *Friday, June 28th is the last day of HEDP *Please bring in a bathing suit, towel, and water shoes by June 17th to leave at HEDP until the end of the school year. Have a great summer!!!!! ![]() JUNE NEWS Summer is here at last! To celebrate for our last month we will be talking bout all things ocean and beach. We will be making sharks and whales with paper plates, sea anomones with dough and toothpicks, jellyfish in a jar, lobsters out of footprints, sand castles, and edible sailboats on jello water. if that does not get you in the mood for summer we also enjoy smores, tents and rice krispie treats for some camping adventures. Throughout the month we will also be reading books and making them into plays afterward, the class seems to really get enthusiastic about putting on these “performances”. It has been a pleasure to watch your child grow over the past ten months! We wish all the best to the future kindergarteners and look forward to seeing some familiar faces this September. Thanks for your cooperation and flexibility! We wish you a wonderful summer! ![]() |
