What’s happening in K-1 -We kicked off the month of May with some paper mache. Tuesday, May 3rd was National Sun Day. Using paper mache we created suns that will be painted and hung in our classroom. We played a game of trivia based on facts about the sun, As the first week of May comes to an end ask your child(ren) some interesting facts about the sun. -On Thursday, May 5th, it is an early dismissal day, some first graders will be attending the Red Soxs vs. Angels game at Fenway Park. Students who stay at HEDP will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a fiesta!
-On Friday, May 6th, we will be recognizing the Kentucky Derby. We encourage children to wear crazy hats!! -Through the month of May we will be celebrating wish days for Ava, Leigh, Nathaniel, Kendall, Michelle, and more to come! We congratulate all the K-1 children for their cooperation during homework and D.E.A.R time each day. SAVE THE DATE! Thursday, June 9th HEDP End of Year Party! We are excited to announce that the theme of this year’s end of the year party is Alice in Wonderland! The children in k-1 and 2-6 will spend the majority of May and June preparing for this event! They will create games and decorations for students, faculty and families to enjoy! For a couple of weeks leading up to the big day, the teachers will be reading Alice in Wonderland to the children and watching the movie K-1 Wish List -Cleaning Luxuries (Lysol Wipes, Paper towels) -Automatic pencil Sharpeners -Hand held pencil sharpeners -Gardening watering can -Lego People -Jump Ropes -Hula Hoops - Girftcards to local stores for our fabulous volunteers
