October has officially begun which means our theme of fall & Where the Wild Things Are is starting as well! We have a lot of fun activities planned with both our fall theme as well as our first book theme.
Some of our fall activities include carving and decorating pumpkins and leaf shading. Following our “green monster” theme we will be reading Where the Wild Things Are, making monster masks and having an end of the month Monster Bash! We will also be implementing Adventures with Amanda on Wednesdays with our new teacher Amanda! Amanda Breckner is currently completing her Elementary Degree at Lesley and is also student teaching at Heath! We are happy to welcome Amanda to the HEDP teaching Team! Finally, it’s Fire Safety Month so we will be visiting the Fire House by the end of the month to meet firefighters and learn about fire safety and what it means to be a fire fighter! We will be asking each child to create a map of your home and hope you will be able to take a few minutes to help them identify exits and a safe meeting place outdoors. In addition, do not forget to change the batteries in your smoke and CO2 alarms. “Let the wild rumpus start!” Special Requests & notes *Please look out for permission slips for both the Fire House Trip and movie day. *Heads up! If your child has lost anything during their time at HEDP it will always be left at the lost and found near the Heath School elevator. -Please have your child bring in a small pumpkin by October 21st for decorating and carving. ~ The weather is changing and the air is cooler. Please send your child with the appropriate attire to go outdoors. We spend at least 30 minutes outdoors each day. Thank you! Tess, Diana & Amanda
