Project Bread Holiday Spoons Project HEDP will continue its annual participation in Project Bread’s Holiday Spoons Project. Project Bread is the state’s leading anti-hunger organization, dedicated to preventing and alleviating hunger all over Massachusetts. Project Bread funds over 400 food pantries, soup kitchens and food banks all over Massachusetts. The Holiday Spoons Project is a fun meaningful way for children to learn about hunger and help feed hungry families. Children will use their creativity and imagination to decorate wooden spoons using a variety of art materials. We can’t wait to see what they come up with this year! We kids will sell the spoons to friends, families and teachers for $2.00 each. All money raised will be donated to Project Bread to help in its mission to end hunger in Massachusetts. Furthermore, we hope to help raise awareness about the issue of hunger in our community through group discussions, books and activities. HEDP Halloween Party was a Success! The 3-6 children spent a great deal of October creating games and activities for the annual Halloween Party! They worked extremely hard and we are so proud of all their hard work. The children and teachers in K and 1-2 commented on how well the older kids did when it came to hosting their game and helping out the younger kids. They did a fantastic job taking on the responsibility of game and activity hosts. Games and activities included: Face painting, Pin the wart on the witch, Haunted House ball roll, Tattoos, Dracula ring toss, Donut eating contest, Ping pong pick-a-color, Pumpkin cup knock down, Pumpkin bean bag toss, balloon pop, mystery surprise boxes and cupcake decorating. Thank you so much to all the families that donated treats for the party. Early Release Day Trip Schedule: Return permission slips ASAP as space is limited!
