March 2014 4-6 Newsletter Please Welcome Caitlyn Ennis Caitlyn is a Wheelock student that began at HEDP three years ago interning in the 3-6 classroom, for her Human Growth and Development class. She has since been working at extended day in the K, 1, and 2/3 classrooms. We are so happy to have Caitlyn part of the 4-6 team on Monday and Wednesday afternoons! What is happening in 4-6? The 4-6 Students finished up their unit on landmarks and made small scale models of them. Landmarks included: Epcot Center, Mount Rushmore, Golden Gate Bridge, Fenway Park, Times Square, Gateway Arch, Cloud Gate and The Space Needle. We are so proud of the hard work students put into these models. We are continuing onto a unit on U.S. cities to accommodate one student’s goal of “learn more about U.S. cities.” The unit began with a Jeopardy style trivia game where kids answered questions in categories such as: City Population, Capital Cities, Name the State, Sports and Cities, and Fun City Facts. We will continue this unit with learning about New Orleans while celebrating Mardi Gras and Nashville also known as “Music City.” During the week of St. Patrick’s day, we will incorporate a unit on Ireland. Learning about Ireland is another goal of one of our students. -On Friday, March 7 and Friday, March 15, 4-6 students will have the opportunity to watch Heath School Variety Show. -Family Dinner is schedule for Thursday, March 27th. 5th/6th grade Trippin Out Program There are spots available on Wednesday’s Trippin Out.
