Sports and Games The 3-6 class will spend the first half of March participating in a variety of sports and games. We have noticed a great interest in sports and games amongst the students in 3-6. This year in particular, students seem to thrive when given the opportunity to take part in competitive and non- competitive sports and games. Sports and games will include, but not limited to: Trivia, Minute-To-Win-It (based on the hit TV show), teacher facilitated group board games, street hockey, flag football, knock-out, touch football, DVD brain games, basketball and soccer. Sports and Games not only keep their bodies and minds active, but it also gives the students more opportunity to team build, problem solve, and practice sportsmanship. We will finish the unit with a 3-6 field day. There will be a variety of field day activities for the kids to participate and compete in. Such activities will include: Three-legged race, long jump, pull ups, relays, hula hooping, jump roping, and more!
Changes To the 3-6 Program Due to the reconstruction of the Heath School Cafeteria, beginning in April, changes will be made to the 3-6 extended day program. Starting in April, 3-6 group will report to the library at school dismissal to check in with an extended day teacher. Students in grades 4-6 will do homework in the library for the one hour structured homework time. Students in grade 3 will check in and then go upstairs to work on their homework for the one hour structured homework time. We will use the library and the upstairs extended day room for activities, arts and crafts, games, cooking, and projects. The sign out book will be located in the library. Please continue to sign out your child and check in with a teacher daily. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak with Noelle or a 3-6 team teacher. New HEDP Clubs Begin after April Break Wishing you a great day! Fondly, 3-6 Teaching Team
